LAN Connect Command 

The LAN Connect command appears under the Configure menu.

The Configure LAN Connect command sets the default connection logon
string and node information.

When you select the File Connect LAN command, HP LaserRX/MPE displays the
File Connect LAN dialog box with defaults set in the Configure LAN
Connect dialog box.

When you select the Configure LAN Connect command, HP LaserRX/MPE
displays the following dialog box:

Through this dialog box, you can establish the default logon string and
node name for the File Connect LAN command.  At connect time, HP
LaserRX/MPE will issue the logon command with the password specified.

   *   Hello.

       Enter a logon string of up to 72 characters, including passwords.
       Passwords are masked with "@".

   *   Node.

       Provide node information for the HP 3000 to which you will
       connect.

If the Auto Connect option (selected with the Options command) is enabled
and the Auto Connect Selection option is set to LAN, the Configure LAN
Connect defaults are used to automatically connect you to an HP 3000 when
you start HP LaserRX/MPE.

The -lan batch interface command (entered on the MS-DOS command line)
uses defaults set by the Configure LAN Connect command to establish a LAN
connection.
