Serial Disconnect Command

The Serial Disconnect command appears under the Configure menu.

          Figure 10-65.  Serial Disconnect Command

The Serial Disconnect command sets the default HP 3000 disconnection
specifications for the File Disconnect Serial dialog box.

The default disconnection specifications permit HP LaserRX/MPE to
logically disconnect you from a specific HP 3000. You may have HP
LaserRX/MPE log you off of one or more HP 3000s as needed.

When you select the Disconnect Serial command from the File menu, HP
LaserRX/MPE displays the Disconnect Serial dialog box with defaults set
through the Configure Serial Disconnect dialog box.

When you select the Serial Disconnect command from the Configure menu, HP
LaserRX/MPE displays the following dialog box.

          Figure 10-66. Serial Disconnect Dialog Box

   *   Logoff Host.

       The Logoff Host option designates whether a logoff command is
       issued at disconnect time. Leave this option blank if you want to
       leave the serial connection available to other applications after
       you exit HP LaserRX/MPE.

   *   Command File.

       You can use the Command File option to designate a basic serial
       command file containing a set of commands to disconnect from an HP
       3000.

A disconnect basic serial command file is only required for a complex
disconnection.

If the Logoff Host option is enabled and a command file is specified, the
command file is executed first.

You can have the Serial Disconnect defaults processed automatically when
you exit HP LaserRX/MPE by making the following selections from the
Configure Options dialog box:

   * Enable the Auto Disconnect option.

   * Set the Auto Connect Selection option to Serial.
