SNA/X.25 Link/XL is used in conjunction with the X.25/XL System Access
and DTC X.25 Link Access products to enable SNA Service products to
communicate with an SNA host over an X.25 network. SNA/X.25 Link/XL is
ideal for customers who have a need for IBM connectivity from their HP
3000 Series 900 but want to access their IBM host over an X.25 network in
order to consolidate their network resources.

SNA/X.25 Link/XL implements the IBM Boundary Network Node (BNN) Type-3
virtual circuit. HP nodes running SNA over X.25 Link/XL communicate with
host nodes running the X.25 NCP Packet Switching Interface (NPSI).

PRODUCT FEATURES

SNA/X.25 Link/XL includes the following features:

 *  Provides PU 2.0 support for NRJE/XL, IMF/XL and APPC/XL.

 * Has an almost identical control operator interface to SNA/SDLC
    Link/XL. Both products are documented in the SNA Link/XL Node
    Manager's Guide (P/N 30291-61000).

 *  Uses either a one-way incoming or a one-way outgoing switched virtual
    circuit (SVC), or a permanent virtual circuit (PVC) for communicating
    with the host.

 * Runs up to 64KB line speed.

 * Requires NPSI Version 2 or later on the IBM 3725 or NPSI Version 3 or
    later on the IBM 3745.

 * Shares the same X.25 hardware and software with the NS Services.
