Release A2.0


Situation:

The following features and bug fixes have been implemented in firmware version A2.0.

NEW FEATURES:

Configurable port number: This allows the users to connect to SWC via ports
23, and 2000-2400. The default is port 23.

Added VT100 scrolling

BUG FIXES:

Fixed missing European keys

The Web Console Hostname is displayed when window is iconified.

Console window no longer requires mouse click to activate.

Draw SAM in zoomed-in mode properly w/hpterm.

Fix for factory reset problem where user cannot factory reset nor ping the SWC box.

Release A1.9

Problem Fixed:

With the introduction of HP-UX 11.0, operating system applications such as SAM and swinstall lost random screen characters making the menu displays unreadable and unusable.

The solution consisted of:

  • Adding two wait states (was 0), and
  • Using processor DRAM rather than DRAM external to the processor.

 

Release A1.8

New Features:
  • The upgrade process now checks for valid checksums and file lengths on the download files.
Problems Fixed:
  • The gateway is no longer required by the SWC when communicating with nodes on the local subnet. Previous versions of firmware worked correctly only when a gateway was present.

 

Release A1.7

New Features:
  • The menu Item previously labelled "In/Out" were changed to "Zoom In/Out" to make this function more intuitive
  • The Title Bar now contains the system name. (i.e. "IGNATZ Web Console")
  • The Version Number for BOOTSTRAP, APPLICATION, and RESOURCES are sent in the HTML on the main HTML page.
Problems Fixed:
  • A problem with garbling of the Configuration report has been fixed. This came about only when a large number of users with lengthy information strings were configured.

New Features:
Problems Fixed:
  • Applications such as SAM and SWINSTALL in HP-UX 11.0 uses different drivers for the console port. These applications were not properly running on Secure Web Console in the 2392A terminal mode. Characters were lost and the cursor positions were incorrect. Note: These problems do not exist on HP-UX releases before 11.0 (9.x, 10.x) or in VT100 mode.

 

Release A1.5

New Features:

Support for VT100 emulation. Prior versions of firmware supported only the HP 2392 terminal type.

 

Release A1.4

New Features:

Support for use of a DHCP Client Server to initially configure the Web Console networking. See details in the documentation.

Problems Fixed:
  • An already-connected user could not re-login
  • Error message when resizing the browser window
  • Font problem on new HP-UX workstations with Netscape 4.5 Communicator
