Secure Web Console Overview The HP Secure Web Console is a small (about the size of a
VCR tape) Internet appliance that makes the HP 9000 and HP 3000
server consoles available over a corporate Intranet or Internet
for the purpose of remote management access to the server console.One side of the HP Secure Web Console plugs into the server
console port and the other side plugs into the corporate Intranet
or Internet. Due to the Internet/Intranet connection, any PC with either
a Microsoft© or Netscape© browser
can remotely access the server console.

Free with the latest generation HP 9000 servers. Secure Web Console
capability is included at no extra charge with HP 9000 A-, L-, N-,
and R-Class Enterprise Servers. Supported on all HP 3000 Business
Class Server models 9X8, 9X9, and 99X. Available as an add-on for
other servers, and costs no more than a standard HP 700/96 terminal.

to four operators, in different locations, can simultaneously share
the remote console screen and keyboard.

Secure Web Console Models
 All secure web console models contain the same functionality.
The Secure Web Console is available in the following models.
External Stand-Alone
 The HP Secure Web Console Stand-Alone external box is about
the size of a VCR tape. It is connected to the server via an RS-232
serial port and to the Internet/Intranet via a twisted-pair cable
and RJ-45 modular plug connection.
PCI Card
 The PCI card version of the secure web console is standard
half-card PCI form factor. It is connected to the server via an
external RS-232 connection and to the LAN via a twisted-pair cable
and RJ-45 modular plug connection. Available as a factory installed
option on the A-400 and A-500 servers only.
Built-in Secure Web Console Functionality
 Some current (A-180) and future servers will have the Secure
Web Console's functionality built into them.
