Allows a message to be written to the log file.

Syntax

   TRANSM[EMO] [data base name:] ["text"]

Parameters

data base name

is the name of a currently open data base. If no data base name is specified, the message is logged against the data base opened with the DEFINE or DATA-BASE= command.

"text"

is a character string to be written to the log file.

Discussion

This command allows you to write a message to the log file that adds additional information, or that identifies transactions in the event of a system failure and subsequent recovery. A message can be added at any time, but can be no more than 512 characters.
