X.25 and PAD support services may both be started individually, through the STARTX25 and STARTPADSUP functions respectively, or they may be started at the same time, through the STARTBOTH command. When they are started through individual commands, the STARTX25 command must be entered before the STARTPADSUP command.

Conversely, X.25 and PAD support services may be stopped individually, through the STOPX25 and STOPPADSUP functions respectively, or they may be stopped at the same time, through the STOPBOTH command. When they are stopped individually, the STOPPADSUP command must be entered before the STOPX25 command.

DTCCNTRL is used in combination with the NETCONTROL and NSCONTROL commands to start X.25 iX System Access and NS Services. See the examples that follow.
