First time install process overview

Install and configure the CMS. The procedure to complete this step is in the installation chapter of this guide. See "Chapter 3 “Installing HP SIM on the CMS for the first time”" for details.

Install and configure the required management software on the systems that will be managed by the CMS. For more information on this step, see "Chapter 4 “Setting up managed systems ”" for details.

Configure HP SIM for your environment. See chapter "Chapter 5 “Configuring HP SIM using the First Time Wizard”" or "Chapter 6 “Configuring HP SIM using the Options menu”" for the recommended tasks.

Configure the remaining protocols for the managed systems. See "Chapter 7 “Configuring managed systems”" for details.
