After installing Insight Orchestration, a member of the HPIO_Administrators Windows group can log in to Insight Orchestration console through HP SIM. To log in to Insight Orchestration console, select Tools Insight Orchestration.
After a short loading screen, the Insight Orchestration console appears.
Insight Orchestration console starts on the Requests tab and does not display any requests the first time you access the console. Before using Insight Orchestration, you must setup up server pools and networks, and verify the Users and Software tabs using Insight Orchestration console. Viewing and configuring networks
Click Networks.
You can only use configured networks for provisioning in Insight Orchestration Insight Dynamics — VSE provides network information. For each network you want to use with Insight Orchestration, you must add DHCP or static address ranges. If your networks do not correctly appear, see Chapter 6 “Troubleshooting”. Select a network, and then click Edit.
On the Edit Networks page, you add information about the network and which IP resources are available. On the left side of the page, there are options to select Public or Private network, Shared or Exclusive network, IPv4 or IPv6, Deployment Network (Yes or No) and Boot Network (Yes or No), and areas to enter Network Address, Network Mask, and Default Gateway. The following are valid addresses: Network Address: 192.168.100.0
Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.100.1
The left area of the screen also has DNS and Windows settings tabs. On the DNS tab, enter the domain (required), DNS Servers, and DNS Search Suffixes (optional.)
The Windows Settings tab enables you to enter optional Windows information such as domain and WINS information.
After adding the appropriate information to the tabbed areas on the left side of the Edit Networks screen, you can add IP ranges for use by Insight Orchestration.
To add DHCP address space, click the up arrow in the DHCP Addresses area, or type in the number of DHCP addresses you want to make available to Insight Orchestration. To add static address space, click New. A dialog appears for you to enter a range. Enter a Start and End address (inclusive), and click then click OK.
When you are finished setting up a network, click Save. The network is now ready to use with Insight Orchestration.
Verifying Insight Orchestration users
The Users tab contains a list of all users authorized to use Insight Orchestration. If you do not see the users that you expected, return to “Configuring Insight Orchestration users in Windows” and verify that every user you want to grant Insight Orchestration access is a member of the appropriate group. You cannot modify any settings on this tab. Configuring server pools
Insight Orchestration Server Pools are groups of resources that the Insight Orchestration users are entitled to make requests from. Before initiating a request for the first time, a new server pool must be created and users must be assigned to it. When starting up Insight Orchestration for the first time, there are two pools automatically generated. The Unassigned pool contains all resources previously discovered by Insight Dynamics — VSE and the Maintenance pool contains resources that have failed. These pools are available only for HPIO_Administrators users and may not be used for infrastructure service creation.
Insight Orchestration automatically populates the Unassigned pool after installation with the resources identified by HP SIM. Physical resources are only available after a VCD Group is correctly created in VCEM. Insight Orchestration updates the information each hour. After you update the available resources, you must wait for the new resources to appear correctly on Server Pools tab. To create a new server pool, click Create Pool.
In Pool name, enter a descriptive name. You can select servers from any pool, however when you first configure Insight Orchestration, only the Unassigned pool displays resources. To select a server, select it in the list on the left, and then click the >> button. You will see the server move to the list on the right. You cannot move unlicensed server blades or virtual machine hosts from the unassigned pool. You can only move resources to a pool after the resource is licensed for use by Insight Orchestration. For more information, see “Licensing Insight Orchestration”. After you have selected the resources for the pool, click Save. The pool now appears on the Server Pool tab. Clicking the pool displays the resources allocated to it. Before Insight Orchestration can use the new pool, you must assign users to the pool. To assign users, click the pool in the list, and then click Modify Users. The Modify Pool User page appears.
Click the user in the list and then click Assign. Repeat this process for each user you want to assign to the pool. Click Save. The list of server pool reappears. To verify that the users are assigned to the pool, select the pool and review the User list on the right.
