Renaming a Disk

The Rename Disk procedure changes the VxVM name assigned to a disk. The VxVM disk name is the name given to the disk by the administrator or VxVM. This procedure does not change the physical disk name (device name).

Procedure 3-3 To rename a disk

Select the disk to be renamed.
Choose Actions > Rename Disk.
Complete the Rename Disk dialog box as follows:
Disk Name:
If the correct disk name does not already display in this field, enter the disk name to be changed.
New Name:
Enter the new VxVM disk name.
When you have provided all necessary information in the dialog box, click OK.




	NOTE: The Rename Disk task requires the current disk name and a new disk name. The new disk name must be unique within the dynamic disk group. The disk must be in an imported dynamic disk group.
