Reviewing the Update Process

This section describes updating to HP-UX 11i v2 using update-ux command and Software Distributor (SD) tools to selectively overwrite the operating system and application software from a media or network source depot.

The overall process is described in Figure 6-1 “Updating to HP-UX 11i v2”, along with alternate methods of updating to HP-UX 11i v2:

	IMPORTANT: You must install the latest version of Update-UX prior to updating your system. Failure to do so may cause the update to fail.
