This section is provided for customers with previous versions of the HP C and aC++ compiler who may still be using HP PAK (HP Programmer's Analysis Kit). The information summarized in this section covers earlier versions of HP PAK.

Summary of Changes in HP PAK 7.20

HP PAK 7.20 supports both 32-bit and 64-bit development environments.

NOTE: XPS has been discontinued with this release.

Summary of Changes in HP PAK 7.10

The following list summarizes the changes and new features implemented in HP PAK 7.10:

  • The TTV tool, which presents thread traces in graphical form, was added to HP PAK.

  • Support for performance metrics on a per-thread basis was added. (See “HP PAK Puma Problem with Signal Blocking and Multiple Threads” for a description of how program signal blocking can result in erroneous data.)

  • A graphical version of the hierarchical call tree analysis was added to the Call Tree Analysis window.

  • Puma online help is available in Japanese as well as English.

  • Call Tree Analysis textual and graphical windows were joined to a single display. You can toggle between textual (tabular) and graphical formats from one window.

  • A tutorial was added to the Puma online help.

  • A Show Libraries toggle button was added to the Call Tree Analysis window, which allows you to view the library or main image name associated with the routines and lines listed in the window.

  • The default timer for Puma's Sampling Timer was changed from Wall-Clock to Virtual CPU. (See “HP PAK Puma Limitations with Sampling Timer ” for a description of these two timing methods and information about the limitations of wall-clock timing.)
