By using the Application Guardian feature, user applications can benefit from the High Availability facilities of the HP OpenCall SS7 product. The application concerned becomes a user plug-in (shared library). For an introduction to the Application Guardian, see the HP OpenCall SS7 Welcome Guide. The Application Guardian has its own APIs.
