File Names and Path Names

Some system path names and file names are different depending on your Linux distribution. Table 1-1 “File/Path Names” gives some examples of files/path names.

Table 1-1 File/Path Names

Network configuration and host names.

You should use the SystemConfigurator tool.

SNMP Agent

/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf

Log Files

/var/log/messages

/var/log/daemon.log

/var/log/rpmpkgs

/var/adm/nettl.LOGxx
