Because the circuit state information is maintained by the ISUP library, there may be occasions when this information is inaccurate. In such cases, the circuit must be reset to an idle condition at both local and remote ends, thereby making it available for new traffic.

HP OpenCall SS7 ISUP Initiated Reset
- Failure to Receive RLC

In this case, HP OpenCall SS7 ISUP has initiated the “CPC-initiated Reset” procedure. The network fails to respond with an RLC message. As a result, HP OpenCall SS7 ISUP retransmits an RSC message every T16, until the procedure is stopped by the application via a STOP_REQ primitive or until the first T17 time-out.

After T17:

  • a MAINTENANCE_SYSTEM_IND is issued to the application, informing the application/Operator about the error situation

  • RSC messages are sent every T17 (typically 1 minute) instead of every T16 (typically 5 seconds)

until a STOP_REQ primitive is received from the application.
