The following figure presents a successful outgoing call with receipt of an ACM message.

During the outgoing call setup phase, unlimited CPG messages can also be received by HP OpenCall SS7 ISUP. Receipt of the ANM message is signaled to the application by a SETUP_CONF primitive, which indicates that the call enters the active phase.

NOTE: The TTC flavor does not use the T9 timer. In this particular case, no T9 timer is started when receiving an ACM message.

Use of the CON Message

When supported by the selected flavor, the CON message can be sent or received by HP OpenCall SS7 ISUP during call setup phases.

Use of the CON Message for Outgoing Calls

The application must check the message type associated with the SETUP_CONF primitive to determine which message (ANM or CON) has been used.

Use of the CON Message for Incoming Calls

Instead of using an ANM message to complete the incoming call, the application can make use of the CON message associated with the SETUP_RESP primitive.

Use of the SAM Message

When supported by the selected flavor, the SAM message can be sent or received by the application using HP OpenCall SS7 ISUP through INFORMATION_REQ and INFORMATION_IND dedicated primitives.

NOTE: The SAM message can only be sent after having sent IAM and before having received ACM.

The SAM message can only be received after having received IAM and before having sent ACM.
