NOTE: HP OpenCall SS7 must be running before you can start the platform management tools.

Starting the SS7 Monitor

To start the SS7 Monitor enter the ss7MgrStart command. You can monitor and configure the SS7 network using the SS7 Monitor.

SS7 Monitor can run in two modes:

  • Administrator—allowing both configuration and monitoring
(the ss7MgrStart command starts it in this mode)

  • Operator—allowing monitoring only

Refer to “Changing the SS7 Monitor Mode” for instructions on changing between these modes.

See the SS7 Monitor on-line help for information on the parameters displayed.

See “Configuring the Network” for guidelines on configuring the SS7 network.

Stopping the Platform Management Tools

Use the ss7MgrStop command to stop the platform management tools and kill any running processes. Enter it with one of the following options:

  • -all—Stops all management processes.

  • -select—Prompts you to specify the process(es) to kill.
