Transport functionality
is typically delivered as part of HP-UX. TOUR (Transport Optional
Upgrade Release) is an additional, fully supported product bundle,
available from the web, which delivers new transport functionality
and other networking functionality independent of major HP-UX releases.
Later versions of TOUR completely supersede previous TOUR versions.
All features available in a TOUR release will be rolled into a later
HP-UX release.
TOUR 2.0 is a web release that enables HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX
11i v2 customers to obtain additional transport related functionality.
It is available from the HP software depot at http://www.software.hp.com (search “TOUR”). TOUR 2.0 is
supported for HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2. (TOUR 1.0 only supported
HP-UX 11i v1).
TOUR 2.0 uses an overlay model to install new features. It
overlays all the delivered files, libraries, commands, and scripts
in both user space and kernel space. TOUR 2.0 includes the following
components:
HP-UX Transport Enhancements (IPv4
and IPv6)
HP-UX Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) enhancements:
PPPoE and PPPv6
HP-UX
11i v1 IPv6 Additional Information |
 |
IPv6 functionality is not included in the default (base) version
of HP-UX 11i v1. It is only available as a separate add-on product,
from the web, as part of TOUR 2.0. TOUR 2.0 supersedes TOUR 1.0
as well as the initial HP-UX 11i v1 IPv6 product offering, IPv6NCF11i.
Transport enhancements delivered by TOUR 2.0 supersede base
HP-UX 11i v1 transport functionality; HP-UX 11i v1 IPv6 transport
delivered in TOUR 2.0 supersedes that delivered in TOUR 1.0 and
IPv6NCF11i.
To enable TOUR 2.0 IPv6 functionality on your HP-UX 11i v1
system, you do not need to first install either TOUR 1.0 or IPv6NCF11i.
You can obtain this functionality just by installing TOUR 2.0. If
TOUR 1.0 or IPv6NCF11i are already installed on your system, you
can upgrade to TOUR 2.0 just by installing TOUR 2.0.
