Log in to the head node as superuser and execute the following commands to determine whether or not the license manager is running:

# lmstat -a

Output like the following indicates that the license manager is not running:

Error getting status: Cannot find license
file (-1,359:2 "No such file or directory")

The output of the lmstat command resembles the following when the license manager is running:

License server status: system
    License file(s) on system: /opt/hptc/etc/license/XC.lic:

system: license server UP (MASTER) v9.2
Vendor daemon status (on system):
    Compaq: UP v9.2

Feature usage info:

Users of XC: (Uncounted, node-locked)

Users of lsf_xc: (Uncounted, node-locked)

Users of XC-CPUS: (Total of 256 licenses issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)

The output of the lmstat command depends on the licensed products and on the number of processors licensed for the HP XC system.
