Accessing the Configuration and Management Database

The cmdb is a MySQL database. Enter the following command to access it directly:

# mysql -u root -p cmdb

The HP XC system software provides an array of commands that retrieve and modify the data in the cmdb. Use these commands to access the cmdb instead of accessing it manually.

	IMPORTANT: The cmdb is a collection of interrelated tables. Making changes manually without understanding the interrelationship of these tables can have serious consequences. Make manual changes in this database only on the advice of the trained HP service representative.
