A server profile is like the DNA of all servers in the deployment. It includes the server EFI environment variables, the I/O configuration, the OS and drivers, and installed applications. The server profile is stored in the repository. Creating it involves the following tasks: Prepare the workstation: Install applications that allow you to burn a bootable CD or DVD (k3b or Xcdroast). For more information, see “Preparing the Workstation” Unpack the toolkit: Download the SSTK software package and expand it on the workstation. The directory structure of the software package is important. It forms the framework of the repository and is designed to help you set up the server profile. The scripts expect this structure. Although you can change the scripts, retaining this structure saves you some customization effort. For more information, see “Unpacking the Toolkit” Set up the unattended OS installation: SSTK provides one sample “answer file” (profile) for each supported distribution, which answer the questions that you are asked during an interactive installation. For more information, see “Setting Up an Unattended OS Installation” Install additional applications: HP recommends that you update the replica servers with the latest drivers and utilities and set up the servers as managed systems. This task involves installing the HP Integrity Essentials Foundation Pack for Linux on each server, which is made easy using the SSTK. You can extend the unattended installation process to include the HP Integrity Essentials Foundation Pack for Linux. For installation instructions, see HP Integrity Essentials Foundation Pack for Linux User's Guide at: http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5991-7635/index.html
