Starting the Installation

Insert the SLES 10 CD1 or DVD into the appropriate drive of your system.

Reboot the system to the EFI Boot Manager.

Select the option to boot from your CD/DVD drive.

TheIntel® Itanium® Edition boot menu (Figure 2-1) is displayed.

Select Installation.

The installation process starts with hardware detection. The YaST installation menu is then displayed.

Select the language to be used for the installation.

YaST displays a software license agreement. Confirm your approval of the agreement.

YaST then displays the Installation Mode menu (Figure 2-2).

Select New Installation, then select Next.

Select your local time zone, then select Next.

The Installation Settings menu (Figure 2-3) is displayed.
