Hardware Enablement Patch Bundle

The Hardware Enablement Patch Bundle (HWEnable11i) provides the patches required for new systems and for add-on hardware supported on HP-UX 11i v2, including I/O adapters and devices.

In addition to delivery on the HP-UX 11i v2 OE media, the HWEnable11i bundle is also available on the IT Resource Center (ITRC) Web site at http://itrc.hp.com.

Summary of Change

With this release of HP-UX 11i v2, the following new servers with the sx2000 chipset have been qualified:

HP Integrity rx7640-16 server (8 sockets) with 1.6GHz/9MB Intel® Itanium® 2 processor
HP Integrity rx8640-32 server (16 sockets) with 1.6GHz/9MB Intel® Itanium ® 2 processor
HP Superdome server SD16B (16 sockets) with 1.6GHz/9MB Intel® Itanium ® 2 processor
HP Superdome server SD32B (32 sockets) with 1.6GHz/9MB Intel® Itanium ® 2 processor
HP Superdome server SD64B (64 sockets) with 1.6GHz/9MB Intel® Itanium ® 2 processor

Impact

With each release of the HP-UX 11i v2 Operating Environment (OE) media, HP updates this bundle with required patches for new hardware.

Compatibility

If you choose to load only the March 2006 version of this patch bundle, without doing a complete update to the March 2006 version of HP-UX 11i v2, you must first load the September 2004 version of HP-UX 11i v2.

Performance

There are no known performance issues.
