Table A-1 provides a list of tasks performed during a new installation. Use this checklist to ensure you complete all installation and configuration tasks in the correct order. Perform all tasks on the head node unless otherwise noted.

    • Install additional HP or third-party software over the network (optional).

    • Create and mount the /hptc_cluster file system if it is not located on a partition on the system disk (optional).

    • Modify workstation model names in the database (optional).

    • Enable software RAID-0 or RAID-1 (optional).

    • Create local user accounts (optional).

    • Override the default user and group IDs (optional).

    • Customize client node disk partitions (optional).

    • Create the configuration file for MCS devices (optional).
