Several
XC software components require licensing, and depending upon the system configuration,
one or more HP XC license key files were sent to you in e-mail messages.
If you have not received the license key information, contact your HP representative.
Follow this procedure to save the license information
into one file:
On another machine, save the contents
of the e-mail messages into one file named XC.lic.
Remove all ^M characters
(Ctrl+M) from this file if the file was sent to you through
DOS.
Save your changes and exit the file.
Record the location of the file, because
you need to know where it is later during the system configuration process.
During the system configuration process, you will copy
this file to the appropriate directory on the HP XC system, as described
in “Put the License Key File in the Correct Location (Required)”.
The sample XC.lic shown in Example 1-1 is included in this document
for illustrative purposes only; it is not intended for use and is not valid
for the system.

Hewlett Packard Company -- This message in its entirety may be placed into
your license file. Use an ASCII Text Editor to avoid introducing characters
which will invalidate the license file. If you have any problems installing
this license key, contact the parties listed on the associated license
documentation or web site.

Your site might have specific licensing requirements that
require you to modify the license key file. For example, your site might be
using an external license server. In that case, you need to modify the USE_SERVER attribute.
HP XC license
management is provided by the industry-standard FLEXlm license management
utility provided by Macrovision. See the FLEXlm documentation for information
about how to modify a license key file. Use the search feature on the following
