HP XC System Software: Installation Guide > Chapter 3 Configuring and Imaging the SystemTask 16: Configure SNMP Trap Destination for Modular Cooling System Devices |
|
Perform this task only if the hardware configuration contains Modular Cooling System (MCS) devices. Bypass this task if MCS devices are not in use. If the HP XC system contains MCS devices, HP recommends that you configure the MCS devices to send their SNMP traps to the management server IP alias. After doing so, all SNMP traps are processed by the snmptrapd service and are subsequently logged to syslog by the snmptt service. The syslog-ng service logs all traps to the /hptc_cluster/adm/log/consolidated.log file and the /hptc_cluster/adm/logs/snmptraps.log file. This enables Nagios to generate alerts for all MCS traps posted with a priority of WARNING or greater.
Proceed to “Task 17: Finalize the Configuration of Compute Resources”. |
