hpmodel — Report Hardware Model Information
Synopsis
/sbin/hpmodel [-a] [-imprsuw]
Description
hpmodel reads the system firmware's
SMBIOS table in order to obtain information on HP Integrity servers.
This utility offers some additional options to report system UUID,
product model name, version, wake up type, serial number, manufacturer
and platform type.
- -a
Displays all system information
obtained from the system table in SMBIOS. This output is of this
option is formatted with a single key-value pair per line.
- -i
Displays platform type
string (ia64, i686, i386, etc.).
- -m
Displays system manufacturer.
- -p
Displays system product
name.
- -r
Displays system product
version.
- -s
Displays system serial
number
- -u
Displays system UUID (Universally
Unique IDentifier).
- -w
Displays wake-up type
(LAN remote, Power Switch, Modem Ring, etc.).
- -v
Displays the SMBIOS Table
Version.

utility written by Jean Delvare to parse and display all information
exposed by SMBIOS. For more info on dmidecode visit http://www.nongnu.org/dmidecode/. Modified by Hewlett-Packard to provide a simple utility with
additional support for HP Integrity Servers.
