If you change the configuration of the Kerberos server, you must stop and restart the services and daemons for the changes to take effect. Table 8-8 “General Tab Components” briefly describes the related services and daemons that you must stop and restart.

You can use the krbsrv tool to start and stop the following Kerberos daemons:

  • kdcd

  • kadmind

NOTE: You can also use the krbsetup tool to start and stop the Kerberos daemons.

You can use the krbsrv tool to start the kdcd and kadmind daemons by executing the following command at the HP-UX command prompt:

# /sbin/init.d/krbsrv start

You can use the krbsrv tool to stop the kdcd and kadmind daemons by executing the following command at the HP-UX command prompt:

# /sbin/init.d/krbsrv stop
