What is New in the March 2002 Release?

The following summaries pertain to the HP-UX 11i v1 March 2002 update release. For further information, see the indicated chapters in the HP-UX 11i March 2002 Release Notes, available in its most current version at http://docs.hp.com/en/oshpux11i.html.

Chapter 2: nPartition (Hard Partition) Systems .

HP now supports hard partitions on the HP rp7410 server (model 9000/800/rp7410).

Chapter 3: Workstation/Server Specific Information .

Hardware Enablement Patch Bundle updated to support new servers, I/O adapters, and peripherals.
SCSI Driver c8xx updated to support two new SCSI PCI Ultra160 Host Bus Adapters.

Chapter 4: HP-UX 11i Version 1 Operating Environment Applications .

HP Apache-based Web server updated to version 1.3.19.23 with enhancement of chroot feature.
Version 1.3 of HP-UX Runtime Environment for the Java 2 (RTE) Platform added.
GlancePlus Pak, updated to version C.03.55, no longer supports HP-UX 10.20.
MC/ServiceGuard updated to version A.11.14.
FirstSpace VRML obsoleted.
HP MPI updated to version 1.7.2.
Ignite-UX updated to version B.3.6.
IPFilter/9000 updated to version A.03.05.03.
Java Out-of-Box (JAVAOOB) has been added to allow large server-side Java applications to run more efficiently.

Chapter 5: I/O and Networking Cards .

Networking and I/O card drivers updated.
Gigabit Ethernet now supports 1000Base-T/SCSI (A6794A) on HP server rp7410.
RAID 4Si controller’s new firmware version (U.01.06) available as a patch.

Chapter 6: Installation .

New Update-UX product now enables customers to install the update-ux script and its accompanying update-ux manpage on a 10.20 or 11.00 system.

Chapter 13: Programming .

Support for CXperf discontinued.
