The following table lists mass storage drivers that are automatically installed. For more details about changes to these drivers, see the remainder of this section.

For the most current information on supported I/O cards, see the set of Support Matrixes available on the I/O Cards and Networking Software Web page at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html. At the top of the page, click the link for the card technology you are interested in, then scroll down to the “Support Matrixes” heading. If a support matrix for your card technology is unavailable, check the card's user guide or release notes.

[1] GigEther-01 is an always-installed networking driver. It has been placed here because it is one of the two drivers that support this card.

 

NOTE: The HWEnable11i bundle, which is normally installed by default on the 11i OE media, provides the patches that are required for the installation of these mass storage bundles. When updating an existing 11i system, one can install the HWEnable11i bundle and the desired mass storage bundle from the OE media in the same install session to meet software dependencies.

In addition to currently supported cards, the swlist report may contain the product numbers of cards that have been “pre-enabled,” but have not been released yet.

FibrChanl-00 (HP PCI Tachyon TL/TS/XL2 Fibre Channel Driver)

This section contains information pertaining to the B.11.11.13 version of the FibrChanl-00 (td) Fibre Channel Mass Storage driver provided with HP-UX 11i v1. The td driver supports the following Fibre Channel products:

  • A6795A PCI Tachyon XL2 Fibre Channel Adapter

  • A5158A PCI Tachyon TL/TS Fibre Channel Adapter

  • A6684A HSC-eff Tachlite Fibre Channel Adapter

  • A6685A HSC Tachlite Fibre Channel Adapter

Summary of Change

FibrChanl-00 has been updated to version B.11.11.13 to incorporate defect fixes. For details, see the HP PCI Tachyon XL2 Fibre Channel Driver Release Notes, available at http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#Fibre%20Channel.

FibrChanl-01

The FibrChanl-01 bundle delivers the fcd driver, which supports the A6826A, A9782A, A9784A, AB465A, AB378A, and AB379A cards.

Summary of Change

The FibrChanl-01 bundle containing the fcd driver has been updated with quality and diagnostic improvements, and support of the I/O cards mentioned above.

RAID-01

The RAID-01 bundle delivers the driver ciss for the A9890A, A9891A, and A7143A cards.

The RAID-01 bundle containing the ciss driver has been updated with quality and diagnostic improvements and defect fixes. Review support documentation for details.

Impact

Customers with HP-UX 11i v1 systems will already have the correct driver available.

Compatibility

This kind of information will be detailed in the A9890A, A9891A, and A7143A documentation as well as pertinent supported server and storage docs.

Performance

There are no known performance issues.

scsiU320-00

The scsiU320-00 bundle delivers the driver MPT, for the A7173A card.

The scsiU320-00 bundle containing the MPT driver has been updated with quality and diagnostic improvements. Review support documentation for details.

Impact

You will be able to run supported Ultra320 SCSI solutions (core IO and add-in cards) and utilize supported Ultra320 capable storage.

Performance

There are no known performance issues.
