Flashing the U320 I/O adapter with any bootable removable media containing HP Smart Setup in a drive attached to the U320 controller results in the following error:

\efi\io_cards\u320_scsi\lsimpt.rom not found

To avoid this error and flash this card properly, use the following steps:

  1. From any Linux system, go to the http://www.hp.com/go/integritylinuxessentials website, and then click the Download for HP Integrity Essentials Foundation Pack for Linux link.

  2. Click the link for the HP Smart Setup tar file to download the file to a local folder.

  3. Extract the contents of the HP Smart Setup tar file to an empty directory.

  4. Copy all of the extracted HP Smart Setup files into the /efi/io_cards/U320_scsi directory on a disk that is not attached to the U320 I/O adapter you want to flash.

  5. Flash the adapter:

    pscsi.efi UPDATE seg:bus:dev:func it_1030.fw lsimpt.rom

    where:

    seg, bus, dev, and func
