Getting Ignite-UX and Installing it on the Server

The first steps in setting up your Ignite-UX server are to obtain and install Ignite-UX. Make sure you have reviewed the server hardware, software, and networking requirements explained in “Ignite-UX Server Requirements” . See “Getting the Ignite-UX Software ” and “Installing Ignite-UX ” to complete these steps.

Configuring the Ignite-UX Server for Your Clients

After Ignite-UX is installed, you must configure Ignite-UX for clients. There are a number of variables to consider when configuring your server, such as: client hardware type, if network booting will be implemented, if DHCP will be running on your system, if you want your clients to be registered or anonymous, and if clients will be within same subnet as the Ignite-UX server. See “Making Configuration Decisions for Ignite-UX Servers” for details and pointers on how to proceed.

NOTE: It is also possible to complete the Ignite-UX server configuration outside Ignite-UX by using the setup_server command. For more information, see setup_server(1M).
