Failed to read swa_catalog.xml

Occasionally the catalog file is unavailable from http://itrc.hp.com. If this is the case, you might see an error like this:

* Gathering Inventory
* Using existing inventory for host "gold"
* Getting Catalog of Recommended Actions and Software
ERROR:   Failed to read: https://ftp.itrc.hp.com/wpsl/bin/doc.pl
/screen=wpslDownloadPatch/swa_catalog.xml.gz?PatchName=/export
/patches/swa_catalog.xml.gz Message: URL cannot be opened.  Read timed out
Gathering Inventory failed with 1 error.

Proxy errors

A proxy server is sometimes required. If this is the case, and proxy settings are absent or incorrect, you might see an error like this:

* Loading CRL from http://crl.verisign.com/RSASecureServer.crl
ERROR: Unexpected error while downloading CRL from
http://crl.verisign.com/RSASecureServer.crl" specified by extended
option "crl_url". It may be necessary to specify a proxy.
Alternatively, you may choose to disable CRL checking. Error was
"Connection refused (errno:239)".

SWA supports only basic HTTP authentication. Authentication using other means, such as NTLM, is not supported. You might see authentication errors like the following when attempting to authenticate via an ISA server using NTLM:

WARNING: Can't download from
            <http://crl.verisign.com/RSASecureServer.crl>
         Error status is: 407 Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA
Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web
Proxy filter is denied. ).
         The network may be down, or you may be behind a firewall, or
you might not have the correct permissions. The value of $http_proxy is
"<http://proxy-svr.place.hp.com:8088>". If you are behind a firewall
be sure that this is correct.
