For HP-UX 11i releases, you can download SWA from the HP-UX Software Assistant web page at https://www.hp.com/go/swa. This web page contains installation instructions for downloading the SWA depot and installing it on a system.

Installing SWA from a Local or Remote Depot

If you choose to create a local or remote depot containing SWA for installation, you must have the dependent applications either on the system already or in the depot. See “Installation Requirements” for a list of dependent applications and where to find them. The installation from a local or remote depot is the same as the previous instructions on “Installing SWA from the HP Software Depot” with the exception that you should use the swcopy(1M) command with the dependent applications to include in the depot, and then use the Software Depot instructions with the swinstall(1M) command for the depot contents.

The following bundles should exist on the system:

  • SwAssistant (bundle wrapper)

  • SWA (product)

  • SwaMin (product)

The dependencies for SWA are

  • The Java and Judy libraries

  • The C++ Runtime Library Patch (PHSS_22898, HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11) only)

Uninstalling SWA from an HP-UX system

  • To remove SWA, enter the command:

    # swremove SwAssistant

    The following objects are removed from the system:

    • SwAssistant (bundle wrapper)

    • SWA (product)

    • SwaMin (product)

    The dependencies for SWA remain on the system. These include:

    • The Java and Judy libraries

    • The C++ Runtime Library Patch (PHSS_22898, HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11) only)
