The SCTP Programmer's Guide is organized as follows:

Chapter 1

Chapter 1 introduces the SCTP protocol. It also discusses the SCTP protocol architecture, the message format, congestion control, fault management, SCTP security, and error handling.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2 describes the different socket API styles, SCTP events and notifications, common socket options, common socket calls, SCTP ancillary data structures, and the new SCTP-specific socket APIs.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3 describes how to compile and run applications that use the SCTP APIs.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4 describes how to migrate existing TCP applications to SCTP. It also discusses the benefits of migrating TCP applications to SCTP.
