These documents are available at http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html (navigate to 1000Base-T and 1000Base-SX (Gigabit Ethernet)). The drivers in the following subsections are optional, meaning they are not automatically installed, but can be selected during installation.
The IB4X-00 product is the driver for the fabric clustering system for InfiniBand. With this release, the IB4X-00 product will support the Reliable Datagram Sockets (RDS) protocol for Oracle RAC environments and for connectivity to the HP/Oracle Exadata intelligent storage cell. The RDS protocol is supported only on AH304A and 448262-B21. You can deploy Oracle RAC with RDS/Infiniband on HP-UX 11i v3. You can also connect an Oracle database server running on HP-UX 11i v3 with the Exadata cell. The Exadata cell greatly improves query performance for data warehousing/business intelligence applications. The following documents will be found at the following website under the Fabric Clustering System for InfiniBand heading: http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#Fabric%20Clustering%20System%20for%20InfiniBand
The mass storage drivers in the following subsection are required, which means they are automatically installed during HP-UX installation.
The CommonIO bundle packages multiple products, and is always installed. For further information on specific changes in this release, see the HP CommonIO B.11.31.0903 Release Notes. For further information on supported cards, see the SAS Host Bus Adapters Support Matrix and the HP Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter Support Matrix. These documents are available at http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html. The RAID-01 bundle delivers the driver ciss for the A7143A, A9890A, A9891A, P400, and P800 Smart Array controllers. For further information on specific changes in this release, see the RAID-01 (ciss) B.11.31.0903 Mass Storage Driver Release Notes. For further information on supported cards, see the HP Smart Array RAID Controllers Support Matrix. These documents are available at http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html (navigate to Smart Array (RAID)). The scsiU320-00 bundle delivers the mpt driver, which supports the A7173A and AB290A U320 SCSI host bus adapters. For further information on specific changes in this release, see the scsiU320-00 (mpt) B.11.31.0903 Mass Storage Driver Release Notes. For further information on supported cards, see the HP Ultra320 SCSI Host Bus Adapter Support Matrix. These documents are available at http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html (navigate to SCSI Host Bus Adapters). The SerialSCSI-00 bundle delivers the driver sasd for the factory-integrated internal SAS controller on certain servers, and for the AH303A PCIe SC44Ge Host Bus Adapter. The CommonIO bundle is also required to support these controllers. For further information on specific changes in this release, see the SerialSCSI-00 (sasd) B.11.31.0903 Mass Storage Driver Release Notes. For further information on supported cards, see the SAS Host Bus Adapters Support Matrix. These documents are available at http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html (navigate to SAS Host Bus Adapters). The USB-00 D.11.31.0903 bundle enables the new USB 2.0 support. The selection of this bundle will automatically select the required patches from the March 2009 OE media. If you wish to retain the existing USB driver functionality (if installed), please deselect the USB-00 bundle from your installation of this OE. This will result in a warning from the pre-install script of PHKL_37815 about the need to remove the current USB-00 bundle to get the new functionality. This warning can be safely ignored since leaving the current functionality is the desired result in this case. The driver names, hardware paths, and the ioscan output are different for USB devices. Any scripts that rely on the OO versions of these will have to change. If you wish to maintain the current behavior (and known problems) of the object oriented driver, USB-00 D.11.31.0903 bundle should not be installed. With USB-00 D.11.31.0903 and PHKL_37815, the performance of locally connected (non-vMedia) USB 2.0 devices will be substantially better because they will be accessed using USB 2.0 capable drivers and not at USB 1.1 speeds. The white paper will be at http://docs.hp.com/en/15027/UpdatetoUSBDriverSupportonHPUX11iv3.pdf. The drivers in the following subsections are recommended, meaning they are installed by default and should be installed because they may fulfill required software dependencies, if any exist. You can manually deselect them before you install or update the system.
The HP PCI Tachyon TL/XL2 driver (td) is part of the FibrChanl-00 bundle. The HP PCI Tachyon TL/XL2 Fibre Channel driver manages the following single-port Host Bus Adapters (HBAs):
