The HP XC System Software is qualified against specific firmware revisions. Follow the instructions in the accompanying HP Cluster Platform documents to ensure that all hardware components are running the latest firmware version.

The master firmware list for this release is available on line at:

http://www.docs.hp.com/en/highperfcomp.html

The master firmware Web page lists the minimum firmware revisions on which the Version 3.0 HP XC System Software has been qualified. At a minimum, your HP XC system components must be running these versions of the firmware.

Read the following information before upgrading the firmware on any component in your HP XC system:

  • It is possible that some minimum firmware revisions shown on this Web page are no longer available because firmware revisions become obsolete when newer versions are released.

  • New revisions of the firmware are supported and are expected to work, however, not all of the new firmware revisions have been qualified on the HP XC software.

  • There is always the possibility that changes in non-qualified firmware unintentionally introduce regressions when being used with the HP XC software. It is possible that the regression could cause anomalies in system operation. Report regressions in XC operation that result from non-qualified firmware upgrades to the HP XC support team at

    xc_support@hp.com

  • The Web page clearly indicates if newer versions of the firmware are known to be incompatible. Do not install these newer firmware revisions because unexpected system behavior might occur.

  • Never downgrade to an older version of firmware unless you are specifically instructed to do so by the HP XC Support team.

  • Contact the HP XC Support team if you are not sure what to do regarding firmware revisions.

  • If you find a regression or problem in a more recent version of firmware, contact the HP XC Support team.
