Table 3-4 in the HP XC Hardware Preparation Guide instructs you to disable Hyperthreading on HP ProLiant DL140 G3 servers. Ignore this instruction because Hyperthreading is not presented as an option on this model of HP ProLiant server.

Disabling Parallel ATA

Also, depending on the SATA disk manufacturer, you might have to disable the parallel ATA option, otherwise the disk might not be recognized and imaged.

  • If the BIOS menu displays disk information similar to the following, you must disable the parallel ATA option:

    SATA Port 1      [ST3808110AS -(S1)]

    Use the following menus to disable this option:

    BIOS Menu NameSubmenu NameOption NameSet To This Value

    Advanced

    Advanced Chipset Control

    Parallel ATA

    Disabled

  • If the BIOS menu displays disk information similar to the following, you do not have to disable the parallel ATA option:

    SATA Port 1      [Maxtor 6L080M0-(S1)]
