This section explains how to navigate in HP VUE using the mouse.
Instructions for navigating with the keyboard are in Chapter 3 “Learning Basic Skills”.
For a right-handed mouse, the buttons are numbered as shown below.
Your right index finger rests on button 1. To reverse the button
mapping for left-handed use, see “Changing Mouse Behavior”.
As you move the mouse across your desk, a corresponding arrow moves
across the screen. This arrow is called the pointer.
You may notice these different mouse and cursor shapes while using
your system:
- To move the pointer:
To drag an object:
- Move the mouse.
1. Move the pointer over the object.

2. Press and hold down the mouse button.

4. Release the mouse button.
You give HP VUE instructions by performing the following actions:
- To click:
Press and release
a mouse button quickly (usually mouse button 1) without moving the
mouse pointer.
- To double-click:
Press and release a mouse
button twice quickly (usually mouse button 1) without moving the mouse
pointer.

- To select:
Specify an object by moving
the mouse pointer over the object and clicking. No action
is performed until you choose another object, such as the OK
button.
- To choose:
Perform a command or action by
moving the mouse pointer over an object and clicking.
