When HP VUE is not running, you have a command line interface for running HP-UX commands, using special applications, and performing certain system administration tasks. For more information on commands, see Part II of this guide.

For example, to view the files in a directory, type the ls command and press Enter.

Use a non-windowed environment if you want to run a single application that uses the entire display, such as a CAD application.

To temporarily suspend HP VUE to work at the command line, see “Suspending HP VUE Using No Windows Mode”. To totally disable HP VUE, see “Stopping HP VUE”.
