Preparing for Installation

Installation of the A6828A adapter requires disassembly of some system components. Before beginning the installation, see the HP-UX system’s manual for detailed instructions about installing host bus adapters in the PCI slots.

To install the HBA, you need the following:

	NOTE: The maximum number of SCSI HBAs you can install in any HP-UX system is equal to the maximum number of corresponding card slots in the system. For example, if a system has four PCI card slots, you can install four SCSI PCI HBAs in that system, assuming that all the PCI card slots are empty. Check the latest SCSI support matrix for systems that support the A6828A adapter. The support matrix is available at http://docs.hp.com under the Networking and Communications section.
