Touch Adjust Click Technique — Reference

Description

The touch adjust click technique is an adjustment selection technique in which a set of elements already identified as the current selection region can be extended by identifying an element to be added to the set. The following describes the steps for mouse-based and keyboard-based techniques:

Mouse-based touch adjust click technique

Click the ADJUST button on the adjustment element.

Keyboard-based touch adjust click technique

With the cursor on the adjustment element, press Shift Select, Shift Space (unless in text), or Ctrl Shift Space.

When to Use

Recommended

Support the touch adjust click technique whenever you support the touch adjust swipe technique.

Guidelines

Required

When the user presses the ADJUST button or presses Shift Select, Shift Space (unless in text), or Ctrl Shift Space, add the adjustment element to the current selection region.

If the current selection region did not previously define an anchor point, define it to be the adjustment element.

After the user uses a mouse-based touch adjust click technique, place the active cursor on one of the following:

  • If it is a graphics cursor, at the point at which the ADJUST button was clicked

  • On the adjustment element
