SD-UX automatically registers some depots. For example, swcopy registers newly created depots and swremove unregisters a depot after removing the depot software.

swreg explicitly registers or unregisters depots. For example, you would use swreg to:

Make a CD-ROM or other removable media available as a registered depot.
Register a depot created directly from swpackage. (See “Registering Depots Created by swpackage”.)
Unregister a depot without physically removing it, making the depot "invisible" to other SD-UX commands.
