This section gives some brief details on how to access the Boot Console Handler (BCH) menu for a specific Superdome partition. See Chapter 5 for details on booting and rebooting Superdome partitions.

The BCH menu is provided for managing and configuring the HP-UX boot process for a Superdome partition. Each partition in a Superdome complex provides its own BCH menu through the partition's console.

Note that on HP Superdome servers, the BCH menu differs slightly from the BCH menu on other HP 9000 servers.

The BCH menu is available after a partition has been powered on, has completed all Power-On Self Tests (POST), and has proceeded to BCH.

Once you begin the HP-UX boot process and load ISL, the BCH menu is no longer available.
