XPS displays process and I/O usage dynamically, using a bar chart
interface based on OSF/Motif.
For each process that you own, XPS displays a separate bar
showing the relative percentage of CPU time being consumed by
that process.
You can display other user processes and OS server
processes individually, with a separate bar for each process. Or,
you can collapse these processes into groups, with a single bar
for each group. The options that control these and other features
are listed in this chapter and online on the xps(1) man page.
In addition to process usage, XPS displays disk and network I/O
activity for the whole machine. Network I/O is shown
collectively and in terms of three categories: paging requests,
paging service, and other traffic.
The process and I/O display bars are dynamic. XPS periodically
samples the operating system and uses the acquired data to update
the process and I/O displays. By default, XPS uses a sample
interval of 4 seconds, but you can specify a different interval.
