Documentation Conventions

Bold monospaced words or characters in command formats and command descriptions represent commands or keywords that you must use literally. Path names are also in bold.

Italic words or characters in command formats and command descriptions represent values that you must supply.

Square brackets enclose optional items in formats and command descriptions.

A vertical bar separates items in a list of choices.

Type the corresponding key on the keyboard.

A choice from the menu bar. For example, since Exit is on the File menu, the menu bar selection is written as File:Exit.
