iCOD B.06.x uses codewords as a licensing mechanism for iCOD components. That is, prior to activating iCOD components, a right-to-use (RTU) codeword must be applied to the iCOD system. The iCOD component must be purchased from HP prior to receiving a RTU codeword.

Codewords are retrieved from the iCOD web portal. See the iCOD web portal information in “System Overview” for details.

Application of a RTU codeword adjusts the number of iCOD components present in the system. As a result, the previously unlicensed iCOD component becomes a usable component that can be activated at will, in accordance with complex-wide compliance.

The following codewords can be applied:

  • Processor RTU

  • Cell board RTU

  • Memory RTU

  • Temporary capacity (TiCOD)

See “Licensing TiCOD” for details on the use of TiCOD codewords.

IMPORTANT: Codewords must be applied in the sequence in which they are obtained.
