Instant Capacity on Demand (iCOD) User's Guide for versions B.06.x > Chapter 2 Getting
StartedTemporary Capacity (TiCOD) |
|
You can purchase an amount of temporary capacity (TiCOD) time for currently unlicensed (and deactivated) processors in your iCOD system. TiCOD can be purchased in units of 30 processor-days (43,200 processor-minutes). TiCOD allows one or more iCOD processors to be activated for up to the specified period of prepaid processor minutes, without requiring the purchase of the processor. You can activate and deactivate iCOD processors as you wish until the activation time equals your prepaid TiCOD duration. For example, with one unit of TiCOD, you can activate one iCOD processor for 30 days or four iCOD processors for one hour a day for 180 days (or any combination that totals 43,200 processor-minutes). TiCOD can be added to a system that contains iCOD processors by purchasing and applying a TiCOD codeword (available from the HP iCOD portal) using the icod_modify -C command/option.
The icod_stat command provides information on the amount of TiCOD time remaining on the iCOD system/partition. See Chapter 5 “Temporary Capacity for iCOD Processors” for more information on TiCOD. |
