The Instant Capacity software maintains complex-wide information about the licensing and activation of system components. The software monitors the number of unlicensed and licensed components for the entire complex. The Instant Capacity software authorizes activation at will of processors, cells, and memory if allowed by the system license counts. You will not be allowed to activate additional components if that action would take the system out of compliance. For example, if your Instant Capacity contract specifies that your system contains 12 licensed processors and 4 unlicensed processors, you may have up to 12 processors activated at any one time, and 4 processors must be inactive at all times.
