To add temporary capacity credits to a system that contains Instant Capacity processors, order the desired quantity of the temporary capacity product for your type of server. The system serial number is required for orders of temporary capacity.

Instant Capacity processors that are added on to an existing system may not automatically include any temporary capacity. After ordering a quantity of Instant Capacity processors, you must also order temporary capacity, in units of processor-days, if you plan to activate the processors on a temporary basis. Then, you must also follow the temporary capacity configuration procedures (see “Acquiring and Configuring Temporary Instant Capacity”) for each partition with new Instant Capacity processors.

HP-UX Licensing and Support with Temporary Instant Capacity

When you purchase temporary capacity, the temporary HP-UX license-to-use is included when Instant Capacity processors are activated using temporary capacity. Software licenses for third-party software may be needed. Check with your application software vendor for licensing requirements.
